MyMuseum: Building a Classroom Museum

* available as of 9/1/08

Grades 4–12

Museums are more than just a collection of objects. It is also an assemblage of people with a wide-range of skills to perform the tasks required for a museum to function. This facilitated, multi-connection project will let your students see many of the jobs performed in a museum and will allow them to create a classroom museum—complete with marketing, fundraising, exhibit design, research and educational programming—with oversight from a museum professional. Fee: $150, includes a maximum of five 30-minute connections.

A Conversation on Race

We recommend 60 minutes for this facilitated discussion which will examine the science of human variation, the history of the idea of race, and the contemporary experience of race and racism in the United States.
