The annual Seminar on the City lecture series is popular with history buffs. The series is a collaborative project of Cincinnati Museum Center and the University of Cincinnati History Department. The lectures begin at 7:30 p.m. in the Reakirt Auditorium or the Scripps Howard Newsreel Theater at Union Terminal. Contact Hour certificates are available for CEU reporting purposes.
Charles & Ralph Dury Science Lecture Series The Charles & Ralph Dury Science Lecture Series promotes an understanding and appreciation of the natural world. Science topics include anthropology, archaeology, environmental science, geology, paleontology and zoology. Lecturers are local and nationally known authorities. Contact Hour certificates are available for CEU reporting purposes.
Brown Bag Lectures All lectures are at noon on the third Monday of each month, September through June, except for January and February when they are on the fourth Monday. Lectures take place in the Reakirt Auditorium, are free and do not require reservations.
ODNR Division of Wildlife 2006 Lunch Sessions All lectures are at 11:57 a.m. on one Wednesday of each month. Lectures take place in the Newsreel Theater, are free and do not require reservations. For more than 20 years, the volunteer docents have shared their passion for history through the hundreds of audio-visual presentations, lectures, motor coach and walking tours presented to the public. As an outreach association of the Cincinnati Historical Society, the all-volunteer Cincinnati Heritage Program has unlocked doors to privately owned historical treasures not usually open to the public. All topics are thoroughly researched for authenticity. Heritage Program Union Terminal Tours Grades 4 through 12 and adult Discover one of Cincinnati's National Historic Landmarks—Cincinnati Museum Center's home at Union Terminal. Learn details about the world-famous mosaic murals and why Union Terminal is one of the finest examples of the Art Deco style architecture. Tours can be scheduled for groups any time during the week with advance notice. Tours for school groups are $1.50 per participant with a minimum of 15. Lecture & Slide Presentations The Heritage Program has a variety of fascinating audio-visual presentations that docents can bring to your organization or school. Your group also can arrange a program at Cincinnati Museum Center’s historic location at Union Terminal. Cost is $40 per hour-long presentation for up to 30 participants.
