Research Facility

The collections and research activities of the Museum of Natural History & Science are housed at 760 West 5th Street (the corner of Gest and West 5th Streets), in the Geier Collections & Research Center. The mission of the Geier Collections & Research Center is to generate knowledge about natural and cultural history through original research, preserve this knowledge in the form of the Museum's collections and associated information base, and to assist in the dissemination of this knowledge through exhibits, educational programs, publications, and other media. Research and Collections focuses on the core subject areas of: Archaeology, Invertebrate and Vertebrate Paleontology, Herpetology, and Ornithology. In these areas, the Geier Center strives to serve as a regional repository for collections, as well as amass nationally and internationally important collections.
