Darwin’s rEvolution Now open in the Museum of Natural History & Science Darwin’s rEvolution is designed to introduce visitors to Charles Darwin whose landmark publication On the Origin of Species celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. This exhibit will show both the personal and the scientific aspects of the man who changed the way biologists view the natural world and the history of life on earth. Darwin’s personal life will be shown through correspondence as well as through photographs of Darwin and his family from the personal collection of Professor Gene Kritsky. Cincinnati connections to Darwin will also be highlighted including Darwin’s speculations on Cincinnati geology and cicadas. The exhibit will explore how Darwin changed our view of the world, how evolution impacts our everyday lives and how science has elaborated or changed Darwin’s views over the past 150 years. Visitors will learn whether his theories have proven to be correct, what the concept of genetics, unknown to Darwin, adds to our current understanding of evolution and how we view Darwin as a cultural icon.
