Toys Through Time
Toys Through Time includes a wide variety of children’s playthings including toy trains and a train layout, dolls from the 19th and 20th centuries, children’s books, blocks and building toys, mechanical toys, puzzles and sports equipment. The exhibit features vintage items such as original Star Wars toys made by Cincinnati’s Kenner Toy Company, a first edition Monopoly set complete with sterling silver game pieces and the historic Goldsmith Dolls.
Also featured is a circa 1900 electric train produced by the Carlisle & Finch Co. See a Lionel No. 10 passenger train set that was originally a Christmas gift given to William Robert Attee III, then a Cincinnati youth, in 1925. The set, which contains a metal locomotive, three passenger cars, a track, switches, signals and several buildings in excellent working condition, was donated to Cincinnati Museum Center following the success of a past Toys Through Time installation.
