RESPONSIBILITIES: |
Ensures all visitors to the Cincinnati History Museum have a safe, enjoyable, and educational experience. This person will spend a majority of their time on the museum floor greeting and orienting visitors, as well as presenting programs and demonstrations that relate to regional history, using both hands-on demonstrations and costumed interpretation. Interpreters also conduct historical research and design new programs about Cincinnati history, under the supervision of Exhibit Program Coordinators. Interpreters may be required to oversee daily museum operations, making daily floor schedules, and supervising staff and volunteers. May be asked to perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS: |
High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in History, Museum Studies, or Education preferred. Minimum of two years experience working with the public, preferably in a museum or educational setting. Ability to learn Cincinnati History and directly apply it to floor demonstrations. Candidates must have an outgoing personality, excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Excellent organization and communication skills and the ability to multi-task are essential. Must be flexible and a strong team player. strong knowledge of Women's History a plus.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: |
Position is hourly, full-time with benefits. Sunday - Thursday, 8:30 a.m - 5:00 p.m.. Occasional evening hours required. Museum is open holidays, except Christmas Day and New Years Day.
