POSITION:

Membership Associate (Full Time)

DEPARTMENT:

Institutional Advancement

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as a primary customer service contact for membership services phone line
  • Sell memberships and assist current & future members with membership renewal or becoming a member
  • Conduct member constituent and gift data entry, including interface between database and internet
  • Balance membership gift revenue
  • Coordinate membership department bulk mailings and USPS bulk mail account
  • Provide assistance to Visitor Services as membership representative when needed
  • Assist with revenue, finance and membership reports and statistics
  • Carry out all aspects of member renewals
  • Assist with database maintenance and integrity including additions, corrections and adjustments as needed
  • Provide general office support; assist with office inventory, supplies and materials
  • Assist with various projects and promotions including recruitment, retention and recognition programs
  • Engage volunteer staff in department projects
  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Superior customer service skills; previous customer service experience strongly preferred
  • Minimum 3 years experience with database coordination/administration/management; experience in non-profit setting preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and learn complex information with focus on efficiency and accuracy    
  • Associate’s degree in related field (development/fundraising, finance, database administration, non-profit studies/management) preferred         
  • Excellent communications skills (verbal & written); excellent phone skills
  • Proficient computer experience (Microsoft Office and relational database; Raiser’s Edge experience a plus)
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment (copier, printer, fax machine, adding machine, multi-line phone, etc.)
  • Fundamental accounting/bookkeeping skills
  • Sales or call center experience a plus
  • Previous experience working with volunteer staff a plus

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

Position is full time with benefits. M - F, wtih occasional evenings, weekends and holidays as required. The Museum is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
