| Internship Application Instructions | |||
Internship volunteers are individuals attending an accredited institution of higher education who wish to volunteer in order to earn academic credit. Follow the steps below. 1. Complete the Application Packet: application, two reference forms, background check authorization. 2. Include resume and cover letter. 3. Submit all forms to: Volunteer Services at Cincinnati Museum Center
After Cincinnati Museum Center receives and reviews your completed application packet, you will be contacted to discuss our available internship opportunities, your academic program, your interests and your availability. After approval from the Assistant Vice President for Children’s Museum & Education and after successfully completing the application process, you will then be contacted for an interview. After agreement that Cincinnati Museum Center would be a good match for your internship, you will complete your volunteer packet, review the policies and procedures of Cincinnati Museum Center and proceed to orientation and training.
With a Cincinnati Museum Center internship, you:
Training Interns work in a variety of departments. Each intern position is based around a project to be completed per term. Areas may include:
Time Commitment Internships range from 8 to 15 weeks and may be repeated. Academic credits may determine the number of hours per week (usually 10 to 16 hours arranged over two to four days). Hours are flexible and depend on assignment. Positions are unpaid but offer volunteer benefits in addition to academic credit. ***NOTE: Please contact Human Resources at (513) 287-7009 regarding any paid intern opportunities.
