Overnight at the Museum Programs

The Cincinnati Museum Center adventure can be available 24/7!

Grab your sleepig bag and a pillow and experience what USA Today called one of the country's top 10 museum overnights! Groups or families can choose from the dates below. All overnights are from 7 p.m. – 10 a.m. and include educational programming, an evening snack, time to explore a museum on your own, a continental breakfast and an OMNIMAX® film for just $28 per person. Public Overnights

This popular overnight program is designed to provide visitors with an in-depth study of our man-made cave. Enjoy the Museum of Natural History & Science after hours, explore our replica limestone and ice caves, meet some of our animals, play games and create art. You will get to enjoy the OMNIMAX® film Journey into Amazing Caves in the morning.

Enjoy all of the Museum of Natural History & Science and the Cincinnati History Museum after hours. Guests will be allowed to tour the museums on their own while interacting with instructors at specific areas of interests. You will enjoy the OMNIMAX® film Tornado Alley the next morning.

Private Overnights

Groups of 45 to 120 that find our scheduled overnights inconvenient can arrange a private Overnight at the Museum program. In addition to the Caves! and Explore! themes described above, Dinosaurs! and Communication! Overnights are available as well. Having several alternate dates in mind will increase the probability that we can host your group. The fees are per person and are the same as for public overnights, $28 per person. A $250 deposit is required to make a reservation and hold the date, with the full balance due two weeks before the overnight. Academic correlations for all overnights available upon request. This overnight will surely excite your students about the wonders of paleontology.  Your group will receive a guided tour through Dino Hall in the Museum of Natural History & Science and learn about our active dinosaur research. You will get to enjoy the OMNIMAX® film Giants of Patagonia in the morning.

From river corridors to satellites, learn how the process of communication has evolved with technology and what role Cincinnati played. Walk into the 1860s, practice Morse code, learn about and see a Crosley radio and watch the OMNIMAX® film Hubble in the morning. This overnight meets several Ohio Social Studies and Science standards.

Girl Scout Way Overnight - SOLD OUT!

Celebrate 102 years of Girl Scouting while earning your Brownie, Junior or Cadette Girl Scout Way Badge. This unique overnight will focus on the scouting traditions created by Juliette Gordon-Low and the many girls that have followed in her footsteps. You’ll enjoy a badge program and earn your Girl Scout Way Badge, explore the Museum of Natural History & Science and spend the night. In the morning you’ll watch the OMNIMAX®  film Flight of the Butterflies, where you’ll see the monarch butterfly take an amazing journey! Breakfast and a light snack will be provided.

  • Brownies: While earning your Girl Scout Way Badge you will learn Girl Scout songs, create your own Girl Scouting mural and make a sit-upon!
  • Juniors: While earning your Girl Scout Way Badge you will create a time capsule with your troop, sing Girl Scouting songs for all occasions and honor the traditions of Girl Scouting by inventing your own game to share.
  • Cadettes: While earning your Girl Scout Way Badge you will lead a Brownie troop in song, celebrate strong women in history that have inspired you and learn about your sisters in Girl Scouting from around the world.

Time: 7 p.m. Friday, March 28 until 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29

WEBELOS Naturalist Overnight

Grab your fellow WEBELOS, pack your sleeping bag and come to Cincinnati Museum Center to earn your Naturalist Pin. This unique overnight is designed just for WEBELOS Scouts and will focus on our connections to the natural world around us. Discover the many ways we can help to preserve our natural surroundings as well as learn about aquatic ecosystems, native animal species and indentify poisonous plants. Along with earning your Naturalist Pin, you’ll get to explore the Museum of Natural History & Science and spend the night! In the morning, watch the OMNIMAX®  film To the Arctic and follow a family of polar bears as they learn to adapt to a changing climate. Breakfast and a light snack will provided.

Time: 7 p.m. Friday, April 25 until 10 a.m. Saturday, April 26
Cost: $35 for scouts, $28 for adults and leaders
