Donor News: Spring 2008 Foundation Support The success of Cincinnati Museum Center is due in large part to the kindness and encouragement of many generous private and corporate foundations. We are pleased to acknowledge the following grant awards, which were received between July 27 and October 20, 2006: Grant award of $100,000 from The H.G., H.F. & L.T. Dornette Foundation, Fifth Third Bank and Stan Koller, Co-Trustees Supports capital and programmatic operational funding for the new Eulett Center at the Edge of Appalachia Nature Preserve. Grant award of $74,621.74 from the Robert and Adele Schiff Family Foundation Provides general operating support and funding for the John Fleming Dialogue Series. Grant award of $50,000 from the John Hauck Foundation Supports the care and preservation of Museum Center’s History and Natural History Collections. Grant award of $25,000 from the Charles H. Dater Foundation, Inc. Provides support for Museum Center’s Distance Learning, Programs-on-Wheels, and Learning Labs programs, which reach over 37,000 students annually. Grant award of $10,000 from Ashland Inc. Advised Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation Provides support for the Programs-on-Wheels educational outreach program for, underwriting programs for eligible underserved schools in Northern Kentucky. Grant Award of $5,000 from the Very Reverend and Mrs. James R. Leo This award supports the 2007-08 Music in the Museum Series.
Corporate Support Business Partners’ Employee Appreciation Weekend On September 25 and 26, Cincinnati Museum Center hosted its first ever Business Partners’ Employee Appreciation Weekend welcoming nearly 2,000 Partner employees and their families. The event was offered to companies, for their employees, that contributed to Museum Center’s 2005-2006 Business Partners’ Campaign. Participating companies represented during the weekend included: A.G. Edwards & Sons Argosy Casino & Hotel Dinsmore & Shohl LLP Frisch's Restaurants Estate Gifts An anonymous donor has included the Cincinnati Historical Society at Cincinnati Museum Center in his/her will for the bulk of the estate, which is valued at approximately $1,250,000! When asked what the motivation was, the donor responded, “I am doing this because I feel I owe a lot to this organization. The staff was very kind to me and helpful; they didn’t kick out a young person when I was a poor nobody. “I believe that the history of the city is important for the spirit and well-being of the community. And I want to motivate others to think about making similar commitments.” Annual Fund Show your support by making a gift to the Annual Fund!
