More days mean more ways to museum
Cincinnati Museum Center expands to seven-day operations Oct. 20
CINCINNATI - Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) is making sure every day is a good day to visit. Beginning October 20, CMC will be open seven days a week, giving you more days and more ways to explore. Daily hours will be 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with select early entry for Members.
Maybe your weekends are filled with sports or your work schedule has you off on Wednesdays. Maybe a burst water main gives your kids a random Tuesday off school. Or maybe you just feel like playing hooky to walk through The Cave. Whatever the reason, CMC will be here and open for you to expand your mind and make your jaw drop. Additional days mean more time to explore each of CMC’s three museums, more films in the five-story domed OMNIMAX® Theater and more opportunities to see priceless treasures from around the world and throughout time in a featured exhibition.
CMC is kicking off the expanded days to visit with Guest Appreciation Week from October 20 to 26. Each day will feature an exclusive giveaway or discount admission.
The move to daily operations may shift some daily visiting behaviors for CMC Members, but many of the benefits will remain. The Children’s Museum will continue to open exclusively for Members at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays before allowing non-Members to join in the fun at the regular museum opening time of 10 a.m. No groups will be booked in The Children’s Museum on Tuesdays either, giving the museum’s youngest explorers more room to roam. The Tuesday classic OMNIMAX® films will continue as well, shifting slightly to a 12:30 p.m. showtime as a different film is pulled from the vault each week.
CMC is giving guests plenty of reasons to make use of the extra days, too. The upcoming Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away. exhibition features over 500 original artifacts from one of the most notorious camps of the Holocaust. The international exhibition opens October 18. The OMNIMAX® Theater will debut Ohio: Wild at Heart on October 24, showcasing the beauty and grandeur of the Buckeye state’s parks and waterways on the state’s biggest screen. And the beloved holiday tradition Holiday Junction featuring the Duke Energy Holiday Trains returns on November 14.
