We’re your place for birthday parties!

It’s your special day so celebrate your way at the Cincinnati Museum Center. We recommend our parties for children ages 1 through 12. Help us customize a birthday experience just for you!

Standard Birthday Party

$200 for Members; $250 for Non-Members

All Standard Parties Include:
  • Day of admission to The Children’s Museum, Museum of Natural History and Science, and the Cincinnati History Museum for up to 25 guests.
  • Free parking for party family (1 parking voucher)
  • 1 Museum staff member
  • Use of party room for 1.5 hours
Standard Party Times

Saturdays and Sundays:

  • 10 to 11:30 a.m.
  • 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Party Add-Ons

Theme Add-On: $50 for Members; $75 for Non-Members

  • All theme add-ons include a half-hour of guided educational programming and demonstrations, and 1 additional museum staff member
    • Stellar Space Party – NEW!
      Children will get to take a trip to the stars as they create rockets out of alka-seltzer powered film canisters, learn about the moon, asteroids, our solar system, and design their own aliens all while exploring the space around us.
    • Super Science Party
      In our Super Science party kids will get messy as they become mad scientists for an hour by making slime, creating rockets out of alka-seltzer and water, and exploring thermal science by watching elephant tooth-paste come alive in front of their very eyes.
    • Awesome Animals Party
      Meet some of our animal ambassadors and learn all about the amazing wildlife that surrounds us in this half-hour demonstration. (The animal ambassadors for your party are chosen based on what animals are available that day based on the animal’s needs and could include snakes, turtles, frogs, or insects. Email us for more details).

    • Dazzling Dance Party
      Enjoy a private dance party in our Corbett Theater just for you and your guests! Dance parties have limited times that they may be booked but include at least a half hour in the Corbett Theater.
    • Witches and Wizards Party
      Attend a potions class where you explore chemistry and learn all about the science behind the magic as you make slime, craft your own wands, and cause explosions.

Themes may be added after your party reservation but we ask that they be placed at least three weeks prior to your party date.

Extra Guests

$10 per person up to 10 additional guests (groups with more than 35 people should look at our exclusive party offerings)

Food
Cake

What’s a party without birthday cake? Add a half-sheet yellow, chocolate, or half and half birthday cake ($65) to any order when you book your reservations. Cake decorations are themed to your party and include the name and age of your birthday child. Cake orders must be made at least one week in advance of your party.

Bringing your own food

Cincinnati Museum Center will provide apple juice for all parties and tap water is available in each of our party rooms. Guests are permitted to bring their own birthday cakes, cupcakes, goodie bags, or desserts. Additionally for guests with severe allergies please feel free to bring any safe food you require.

We respectfully request that no other outside food or drink be brought into the museums.

Exclusive Birthday Parties

$700 for Members; $750 for Non-Members

Want to have the museums all to yourself? Exclusive birthday parties include after-hours access to one of our three museums for just you and your friends. Choose from The Children’s Museum, Museum of Natural History and Science, or Cincinnati History Museum.

Exclusive Parties Include:
  • Exclusive access to either The Children’s Museum, the Museum of Natural History and Science, or the Cincinnati History Museum for up to 50 guests, from 6 to 8 p.m.
  • Use of a party room from to 8 p.m.
  • 4 Museum staff members
  • 5 parking voucher
Exclusive Party Times

Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays: 6 to 8 p.m.

Exclusive Party Add-Ons
  • Extra Guests: $10 per person up to 50 additional guests (100 guests total)
  • Extra Time: $50 per additional half hour to 9:30 p.m.
  • Themes: Same as standard parties
  • Food: Guests purchasing an exclusive birthday may order cake ($65) with their party, and CMC will continue to provide juice. Guests who wish to have more extensive catering options should consider a private event instead.

Want to spend even more time at the museum? We also offer private overnights programs!

Food

Hungry? Food can be added on to any of our standard birthday parties courtesy of Service Systems Associates (SSA). Click here to see a menu. Orders may be made by emailing Alex Strupe at alexandriastrupe@kmssa.com. Food orders must be made at least 10 days prior to your party.

Parties must be scheduled at least three weeks in advance and payment is required at the time of registration.

*All add-on tickets must be for the same day as your Birthday Party and reserved at the time of booking. OMNIMAX® Films and Featured exhibits have timed entry.
