Ignite a love for science and technology by becoming a STEM Girl Today!
Discover authentic and relevant STEM experiences in our free program aimed at children grades 3rd-8th. All participants, regardless of gender, are welcome! Meet women actively working in STEM-related fields, and learn what they do through hands-on presentations and programing!
*Participants that are 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, who must stay in the room for the duration of the program. Participants that are 13 and older may attend by themselves but may not count as a guardian for younger members.

Civil Design – Geotechnical Engineering and Foundation Design (Grades 3rd-5th)
February 21, 2026 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.
Will your building hold up, topple over, or sink into the mud? Investigate different soils and count how many “foundation piles” it will take to support your “building”. Let’s discuss see which designs seem to be sound engineering judgment and common sense. Cincinnati has a unique geology, and soils, and foundation engineering is more interesting than you think! Mary McConnell, PE, is the Director of Civil Engineering Ohio Valley for Osborn and decided she would be an engineer in sixth grade. One of her favorite projects is being the engineer of record for the Bengals Practice Dome.
Civil Design – Site Utilities (Grades 6th-8th)

Lights, Pipes, Action! Design the pipe networks that bring water, gas, electricity, and WiFi to the Cincinnati Museum Center. Don’t forget the sewers that carry the waste away! Drafting, Engineering, and Site Design in a team approach, followed by utility conflict resolution and a project out-brief, just like we do it in the real world. Build Your Own Scent World! (Grades 3rd-5th)
March 14, 2026 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. OR 1 to 2:30 p.m.
Discover the science of scent with Alexis Wintrob, author and sensorial product creator of Za Za Scents! In this hands-on Za Za Scents workshop, kids will interact with fragrances, learn how scent works, choose their signature scent, and create a mini “Scent World” inspired by it. A playful mix of STEM, creativity and storytelling for 3rd–5th graders.
Become a Meteorologist! (Grades 3rd-5th)

Many people say Cincinnati’s weather can’t make up its mind, so what is it like to predict the unpredictable? Join Meteorologist Allison Rogers, a member of Cincinnati’s Most Accurate Weather Team at WLWT, for a day full of lessons on meteorology and communication to find out how to keep people safe during bad weather! Not only will you learn the basics of weather predictions with interactive science demonstrations, but you will have your chance at broadcasting your own forecast!
