Bold. Beautiful. Deadly.
Volcanoes are often seen as destructive, but for billions of years, volcanoes have created our world. With over 500 active volcanoes, our planet is bursting at the seams with these forces of mass construction.
Travel around the world: dodge boulders at the edge of an active volcano in Indonesia, descend to a boiling lava lake in Vanuatu, visit incredible acid ponds, geysers and mineral deposit fields in Ethiopia, walk the archaeological ghost town of Pompeii, dive beneath the waves to hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean and witness the spectacular 2018 Kilauea eruption in Hawaii.
See Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation in the upgraded, all-digital OMNIMAX® Theater. So close you can feel the heat.
If you or someone in your group is deaf, blind or hard of hearing, please let our staff know. This film is available with closed captioning, descriptive audio and/or assisted listening.
