Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire returns to Union Terminal April 13
Explosive spectacles, crazy contraptions and clever creations highlight science fair gone wild
CINCINNATI – Attention inventors, tinkerers, hackers and mad scientists! Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire is back at Union Terminal. Cincinnati Museum Center’s family-friendly showcase of imagination, design and ingenuity will once again take over Union Terminal on April 13.
Part of MAKE Magazine’s Maker movement, Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire is part science fair, part county fair, bringing together tech inventors, engineers, hobbyists, educators, artists and more. Together, these makers display their creations and share their passion for conceiving the unthinkable and doing the impossible.
“Our community is brimming with bright, innovative minds that are redefining what’s possible,” said Elizabeth Pierce, president and CEO of Cincinnati Museum Center. “Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire is an incredible opportunity to showcase their talent and ingenuity while igniting the creativity and imagination of future makers.”
Last year featured fully-functioning R2-D2s, competition robots, drone racing, custom-built LEGO cityscapes, 3D printing demos and more. This year, CMC is expecting crazier contraptions, more explosive spectacles and innovative inventions that will showcase the region’s imagination.
Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire will also feature instructional workshops and vendors so you can take a piece of the experience with you and begin your own maker journey.
Cincinnati Mini Maker Faire is free for CMC Members. Non-Members are $14.50 for adults, $10.50 for children and includes museum admission. For more information visit Cincinnati.makerfaire.com.

About Maker Faire
Maker Faire is the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth – a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker Movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning. Makers range from tech enthusiasts to crafters to homesteaders to scientists to garage tinkerers. They are of all ages and background. The aim of Maker Faire is to entertain, inform, connect and grow this community.
The original Maker Faire event was held in San Mateo, CA and in 2014 celebrated its ninth annual show with some 1,100 makers and 130,000 people in attendance. World Maker Faire New York, the other flagship event, has grown in four years to 600+ makers and 80,000 attendees. Detroit, Kansas City, Atlanta, Milwaukee, Orlando, Silver Spring, Paris, Rome, Oslo, Trondheim, Tokyo, Newcastle (UK) and Shenzhen are the home of larger-scale, “featured” Maker Faires and over 120 community-driven, independently organized Mini Maker Faires are now being produced around the United States and the world – including right here in Cincinnati!
