Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission explores and honors that great achievement using genuine flown artifacts from the Apollo 11 mission on loan from the National Air and Space Museum. Featuring the Apollo command module Columbia — the only portion of the historic spacecraft to survive the lunar journey — the exhibition explores the birth and development of the American space program and the space race in time for the 50th anniversary of humankind’s greatest scientific achievement. Group Visit Request Form

Policies Group deals apply to an advance reservation made at least two weeks before the date of visit for 15 or more people with one contact for the group and one method of payment. Final count and payment in full are due two weeks (10 business days) in advance of a scheduled visit date. Cancellations made within 48 hours may result in the suspension of visiting privileges or grant eligibility and no-shows are subject to pay 100% of reservation.   Toddlers ages 1 & 2 are $5.50 per child for a Museum visit and free to most Special Exhibits. Toddlers are not included in the minimum of 15 to receive group rates with an advance reservation.

SPECIAL EVENT Saturday, January 11, 2–5 p.m. Entry: Included with exhibit ticket | Location: Union Terminal Experience the museum in a whole new way In partnership with Cincinnati State’s Interpreter Training Program, Deaf and partially deaf guests are invited to experience Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission. Interpreters from Cincinnati State will be on-site, from the box office to the exhibit gallery. Passionate about saving the world, one museum experience at a time. “she whom the moon ruled like us levitating into the night sky…”– Adrienne Rich, “Planetarium”   Last week on October 18, NASA astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir accomplished the first-ever all-female spacewalk. For nearly eight hours, they worked outside the International Space Station to replace a broken power unit. It was Koch’s fourth spacewalk and Meir’s first. This historic event generated a lot of excitement in CMC’s offices. Staff who lead our work with Girl Scouts, as well as those who lead our STEM Girls programs – which connect girls with female mentors to help them stay engaged in STEM studies and careers – cheered on this historic accomplishment for women.
