Cincinnati History Museum Exhibits
Guests will step onto a bustling riverside street and market, getting a sense for a city that hasn’t changed quite as much as we might have thought. Public Landing recreates a city built on innovation and determination with historic shopfronts, dynamic soundscapes and a peek inside the interior of the Queen of the West.
Cincinnati in Motion, one of the best-loved galleries in the Cincinnati History Museum, has returned in a refreshed and renewed space. The main display is now open, featuring the Ohio River and downtown Cincinnati, with additional displays opening in 2020. The renovated gallery will offer a welcoming and exciting introduction to the Cincinnati History Museum, with cleaned and repaired historic S-gauge train models, new lighting, new sounds and more opportunities to interact with historic and updated content.
Explore how rivers, rails and roads have shaped and defined our region over the centuries. How has transportation spurred innovation and how has it both provided and impaired access? Through vehicles, maps, objects and interactive elements discover the evolution of our region and examine how new forms of transportation may shape our future city.
Our city is home to distinctive chili, a great beer scene and the Porkopolis nickname. How did these and other “only in Cincy” traditions get started and grow here? You Are Here will get to the root of these stories and explore what it means to live, work, and play in the Queen City. Rediscover the city you love with this new exhibit.
Don’t just learn history, make history in this interactive gallery that celebrates our region’s innovative and industrious spirit.
