Cincinnati Museum Center holiday gift guide
Shop local and save time with one-of-a-kind gifts
CINCINNATI – The holidays are just around the corner, which means you’re just weeks away from forgetting to get a gift for your friends, loved ones, obligatory acquaintances and Secret Santas. Luckily, Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) has compiled a holiday gift guide to help you find the perfect gift for every type of person on your list, all in one place. Shop in person or online.
For the Rail Reveler, consider a classic wooden train set and accompanying train whistle that will keep the fun chugging down the track. Locomotive-themed apparel will let the whole world know they’re a conductor in train-ing.
For the Local Literature Lover, add to their bookshelf with a Queen City take on a holiday classic. ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas in Cincinnati leads Santa past local landmarks, including the Tyler Davidson fountain, the Purple People Bridge, Carew Tower and, of course, Union Terminal.
For the Art Deco Devotee, stock up on jute bags, sweatshirts and t-shirts emblazoned with Union Terminal’s iconic curve and stair-stepped façade. It’s a not-so-subtle way to let the person on your list know they’re a treasured classic.
For the Collector of Classic Craftswomanship, fill their stocking with handmade gifts from the nation’s first and oldest large manufacturing enterprise founded and owned by a woman. Tiles, bookends and ornaments from Rookwood Pottery make for a classy keepsake to be passed down for generations. (If you’re still shopping for the Art Deco Devotee, you’ll find plenty of Union Terminal-inspired Rookwood Pottery items available.)
For the Dino Divas, consider an LED dinosaur cup to not only keep them hydrated, but to do it in style. They’ll need the extra water as their friends get a little thirsty when they see the full dinosaur collection they roll in with, including backpack, notebook and pencil case.
For the Continuously Curious, give the gift of Membership. A CMC Membership is more than a year of free admission to CMC’s three museums, it’s a lifetime of memories shared, epiphanies discovered and curiosity ignited. Plus, if you purchase two or more Memberships between November 23, 2022 and January 2, 2023, you’ll save 25% off each. So go ahead and treat yourself while you’re at it.
For the Future Philanthropist, consider a gift in their name to Cincinnati Museum Center. CMC’s ongoing $112 million Champion More Curiosity campaign is powered by the generosity and support of donors at every level, from the scions of industry to the piggy bank busters. A donation to CMC makes a generational impact as the museum continues its bold vision for the future that has already opened 15 new and refreshed exhibits with more still to come.
For every “what do you get the person who has everything” and “where am I going to find a dino dig kit” on your list, CMC has you covered. Shop local this holiday season at Cincinnati Museum Center.
