Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation erupts onto OMNIMAX at Cincinnati Museum Center Dec. 28

Tickets and annual OMNIMAX® Club Cards on sale now

CINCINNATI – The upgraded Robert D. Lindner Family OMNIMAX® Theater is taking theatergoers into the crater of a boiling volcano, close enough to feel the liquid hot magma. Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation will be the first film to showcase the OMNIMAX® Theater’s new IMAX with Laser digital technology when the theater reopens December 28.

Volcanoes are often seen as destructive forces, wreaking havoc on populations. But for billions of years, volcanoes have helped create the world we know. Dozens of volcanoes are erupting every day, from the depths of the sea to mountain peaks. With over 500 active volcanoes, the Earth is bursting at the seams with these forces of mass construction, creating the backbone for extraordinary ecosystems and wildlife habitats.

Join intrepid explorer and photographer Carsten Peter as he dodges boulders at the edge of an active volcano in Indonesia, descends to a boiling lava lake in Vanuatu and visits incredible acid ponds, geysers and mineral deposit fields in Ethiopia. Volcanoes takes you across the globe to see the archaeological ghost town of Pompeii, hydrothermal vents at the bottom of the ocean and the lengthy eruption and aftermath of the devastating 2018 Kilauea outburst in Hawaii.

If one trip into the fiery mouth of Volcanoes isn’t enough, purchase an OMNIMAX® Club Card and see it again and again. The Club Card is your passport to unlimited OMNIMAX® films for an entire year. Club Cards are just $35 for adults, $30 for children. You can purchase yours now at the box office or online at cincymuseum.org/omnimax.

Tickets for Volcanoes are available now at cincymuseum.org/omnimax.

Volcanoes will be the first film to debut in the upgraded OMNIMAX Theater, erupting onto the five-story domed screen in crisp clarity that will make you feel like you’re walking through the pumice-covered slopes of volcanoes yourself. The next-generation IMAX with Laser digital technology presents a quantum leap forward in cinema technology, providing audiences with the most vivid digital images ever seen in the theater, combined with a new level of immersive audio.

Volcanoes: The Fires of Creation is an SK Films Release of a Digital Crossing Films production, in association with the Giant Dome Theater Consortium, of which CMC is a founding member.
