Support The Edge today!
The 21,000-acre Richard & Lucile Durrell Edge of Appalachia Preserve System (The Edge) is a world class natural area of incredible biodiversity. Cincinnati Museum Center (CMC) has owned and managed land at The Edge since 1961 when it was graciously gifted to CMC. The preserve system not only protects hundreds of rare and endangered species, but its sheer size protects a fully functioning eastern deciduous forest landscape for all species. Protecting this outstanding resource takes a multipronged approach, with one of the most successful strategies being educating people about its importance.
The Edge provides a wide range of one-of-a-kind, hands-on learning opportunities that educate visitors of all ages about important environmental issues, including conservation and biodiversity. From workshops and conferences to nature-based activities and guided walks, The Edge invites professional researchers, naturalists, educators, students and our surrounding community to experience firsthand how to preserve habitats and waterways. Your donation to The Edge supports general operating expenses and helps make all of this happen!
